What motivates freelance technical translators? This study explores the complex factors influencing the motivation and job satisfaction of freelance technical translators in Türkiye. Using Herzberg`s Two-Factor Theory and Deci and Ryan`s Self-Determination Theory, the study reveals surprising findings about intrinsic and extrinsic motivators, highlighting the unique needs of this essential workforce.
